I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
